I actually love this, don’t understand why people think this is insulting? Just adding a bit of fun while still supporting, why is it such a problem?

The problem with promoting this sort of shit from guys is that it 1. undermines the seriousness of the breast cancer problem and focuses [as usual] on the female as a damsel in distress or object in need of a man rather than promoting it as serious concern to citizens. 2. it establishes [again] the woman as a mere, emotionless, sexy, only-for-dating piece. If someone were truly concerned for another do you honestly think that a pink ‘save second base’ shirt will really help the cause?
It also shows the sick nature of how serious we take women. This isn’t a little kid wearing a “bite me” shirt. This is a grown ass dude, wearing a shirt that will likely make most women feel like their attempt at raising awareness on such a damaging process has gone to shit and instead is being commercialized and dudebroafied by men who see an opportunity at coming off as compassionate for the sake of reaching home plate.
One of my aunts was diagnosed with breast cancer more than 10 years ago, and if I remember correctly it wasn’t a comedic undertone to breast cancer that saved her life. Why is this such a problem? because you don’t see the problem in it. You are a-okay with people using breast cancer awareness as dating or comedic platform. Not everything has to be fucking joke, there’s a time and place to do all of that. You love this because you’ve yet to understand how big of a struggle women have gone through (and still go through) just to be seen as equals.

agreed with Ken, what he said above is absolutely true. one needs not make light of something so serious and potentially fatal, having taking the lives of many women way too early. you can be more aware of what it is, and more educated, and spread awareness along with raise money to help, but there’s no need to stoop so low as to make it such a selfish reason why you do what you do, even if the ends are good, the means or the path to get there is important too. this is obviously dehumanizing; men don’t need to do this, unfortunately, most men have already done a lot of it, and any dehumanizing or portraying women as merely sexual objects made for men’s pleasure, rather than equal human beings and separate individuals that are just like us, with some differences, is too much.
